Elena Estébanez de Miguel (PI)

With a diploma in Physiotherapy from the University of Zaragoza (UZ) in 1999, she furthered her education with a Master in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (OMPT) that is internationally recognized by IFOMPT (International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists). She also holds a degree in Psychology from the UNED and earned my PhD ‘cum laude’ from the UZ in 2012 with a thesis on ‘Study of the clinical differences when applying different degrees of hip traction in patients with osteoarthritis of the hip’.


She has been an international instructor in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy since 2006 and in Neurodynamics since 2008.


As a lecturer in Physiotherapy at the UZ, she teaches physiotherapy methods in orthopaedics and pelvic-perineal physiotherapy. She also serves as the Coordinator of the Degree in Physiotherapy and Vice-Dean of Academic Organisation, Teaching Staff and Quality of the Faculty of Health Sciences.


Her research interests are focused on validating Physiotherapy intervention procedures in the hip and pelvic-perineal region in different population groups. By applying these validated procedures, she aims to improve the quality of life for those in need.
